Matty Matheson works hard and plays even harder. The talented Parts & Labour chef has been on the rise since graduating from Humber College, where he took chef training and culinary management, in 2003. After paying his dues at both Le Select and La Palette, learning proper French cuisine, Matheson brought his particular Canadiana style to Parts & Labour via owners Brian Richer and Kei Ng‘s Oddfellows.
This weekend his hard work translates into party as Parts & Labour gets taken over for Matty Fest 2012. Three days of mayhem featuring bands like Dirty Lungs (with Wade MacNeil of Gallows/alexisonfire), Sex Tears, Ladyhawk, Julie Doiron, Slow Learners, Shotgun Jimmie, and Marine Dreams (Ian Kehoe of Attack in Black) to name a few.

Looking to support local craftspeople and find that special something for your better half? Perhaps a pair of crocheted nipple tassels or a decoupage light switch panel featuring vintage bra ads? Toronto’s preeminent sex shop co-operative, Come As You Are, is putting on their sixth annual Erotica Arts & Crafts fair at the Gladstone Hotel from noon until 8pm this Saturday. This year will see the addition of a burlesque show to EACF. Whether you show up with your sweetie or go solo be sure to bring your wallet with an open heart and mind.
